Chef's Cycle Event

by Chef Alvin Cailan and Chef Michael Hung

Spend an evening feasting with friends and supporting a great charity with Chef Alvin Cailan and Michael Hung at their Filipino Backyard BBQ in support of No Kid Hungry on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. The two chefs will transform the mezzanine level of Chinatown’s Far East Plaza into a vibrant DTLA party space inspired by their favorite childhood summer memories. Guests will experience an all-you- can-eat offering of Filipino inspired dishes, beer, wine and cocktails from Faith & Flower’s Darwin Pornel, and DJs spinning everything from classic hip hop to modern disco.

The funds will be donated to No Kid Hungry through the specific program Chef’s Cycle, in which Michael Hung and his team partner Abby Gavino have committed to riding 300 miles in order to raise funds and awareness for the problem of childhood hunger in America.

“Chefs Cycle is a P2P fundraising endurance event featuring award-winning chefs fighting hunger outside the kitchen. For nearly 30 years, chefs and restaurants have served as our most ardent supporters raising millions to help end child hunger in America. Now, they are getting on their bikes to raise awareness and funds for No Kid Hungry. Nearly 200 chefs and restaurant industry professionals are riding from Carmel to Santa Barbara continuing their efforts to put an end to childhood hunger.” – ChefsCycle.org
